Book
One might think that with winter’s arrival and the sun becoming a rarer guest, Brittany falls asleep—only to awaken again with whelk season (March, editor’s note). Quite the opposite: when Brittany wraps itself in its winter blanket, it paradoxically reveals its truest self. This is when it opens up—authentic, historic, and rich in the comforting flavours of land and sea. Within its stone houses, warmed by crackling fireplaces, Brittany feels most alive. And now is the perfect time to discover her—when she least expects it.
To help you do so, the teams at Le Brittany & Spa have designed what could be the perfect itinerary for a day spent in the Bay of Roscoff.
8:00 AM – Breakfast with a sea view
Hearty, delicious, and unmistakably Breton, breakfast at Le Brittany & Spa is an experience in itself. Facing the bay, enjoy our homemade crêpes, a variety of fresh seasonal fruit and vegetable juices, and our famous seaweed scrambled eggs prepared with local ingredients.
10:00 AM – Brisk walk on Perharidy Beach
A long stretch of fine white sand, turquoise waters, and a wild coastline—discover Perharidy Beach, a Roscoff gem open to the horizon and blissfully deserted in the off-season. Walking here feels like reaching the edge of the world. A breath of invigorating sea air to start your day in the best possible way.
12:00 PM – Lunch at the Crêperie du Quai
Crispy lace-edged galettes, nutty butter, sweet or savoury fillings—the Crêperie du Quai is a must during your Breton escape. Authentic, warm, and delicious, this charming spot serves regional specialties made with local produce.
2:00 PM – Crossing to Batz Island
Set sail for just beyond the end of the world. From the pier, cross over to Batz Island with its unspoiled landscapes and scenic coastal paths. After exploring the village and its centuries-old stone houses, head to the Maison du Corsaire—look west, and over 4,500 km of ocean separate you from the American continent. Breathtaking.
4:00 PM – Tea time
After a day of exploration, it’s only natural to crave a pause. Enjoy tea by the fire, perhaps accompanied by a rum baba or one of our tarts of the day. Take this moment to decide—will it be a swim or a spa treatment next? Or both?
5:00 PM – Thalion treatment: all the benefits of Brittany
A revitalising magnesium-rich marine treatment, an Iroise Sea algae wrap, a sea salt scrub—our spa experts are here to offer the relaxation and care your body and skin deserve. Immerse yourself in the benefits of the ocean and its minerals for an energy boost straight from the sea.
6:00 PM – Revitalising bath
Right after your Thalion treatment, take a few steps toward the pool—where water heated to 32°C awaits you. Swim a few gentle laps, then let the warmth of the hammam complete your revitalising experience.
8:00 PM – Cocktail hour
As the day winds down, it’s time to reminisce over a Rosko, the Sunset bar’s signature cocktail. A touch of gin, goji berries, and local green tea with seaweed—sip, savour, and enjoy the company as evening falls.
8:30 PM – Dinner time
The fire crackles softly as you take your seat at the Sunset restaurant. On the menu: fish soup or cotriade from the sea, Olivier Hélibert’s sausage and mash or Breton Wagyu flank steak from the land, and a sweet treat to finish.
